Shane Knappert

I started fishing at the age of 8 in the Peterborough Cambridgeshire area. My first fish was in the form of a roach, fishing with a withard old rod on a local gravel pit with my dad and older brother. A lasting memory that sparked a burning passion. I delved into match fishing as I grew older eventually migrating over to carp fishing and settling in the scene after feeling gripped by every essence of it. I caught my first ever 20lber in 2006,  my first 30lber in 2008 and my first 40lber in 2016.
Since early 2010 I found myself getting more and more involved with the industry side of things and have been involved with bait and tackle on various levels including media content and creation.
As explained, the burning passion ignited during childhood is still burning brightly today and as we look to pursue our targets as carp anglers I love sharing the journey and memories made along the way. You find me writing this description currently targeting a fish I have wanted for some time, it came onto my radar as a low 40 however this could interestingly be, should it happen, my first UK 50! Despite of size as long as a fish or venue has meaning or is special to me in one way or another then that is what I desire.
