The General Data Protection Regulation

What is it?

The General Data Protection Regulation is the biggest change to UK data privacy law in 20 years. It comes into force on 25th May 2018 and introduces significant hanged to data privacy in the UK and the EU. It is the most stringent data protection regulation in the world.

The regulations mean:

  • You have greater control over your personal data.
  • You can control who is permitted to contact you, how and what for.
  • You can change your mind at any time.
  • Data protection is enhanced with strong financial penalties for breached of data security.

We collect information about you when you put a telephone order in and pay by card.

  • Name
  • Address
  • Telephone Number
  • Email Address
  • Financial Information (i.e card details)

Use of personal information

The law permits the use of personal data for restricted legal purposed as follows:

  • Contractual
  • Legitimate interests – when Cotswold Aquarius has a business of commercial reason to use your information.

If you do not wish us to collect and use your personal information in this way, and you inform us of your wishes, we will not use your personal data, but it may mean that we will be unable to provide you with our products or services.

With whom may we share your information?

We never share your personal information with anyone whatsoever.
